Audio Book Club Contest Winner Gets Published

by Trudi M. Rosenblum -- Publishers Weekly, 5/7/2001

Last summer, "Small Change: The Secret Life of Penny Burford" by J. Belinda Yandell won the Audio Book Club's first annual Short Story Contest. The prize was an audiobook contract and publication of the story. In April, Small Change was released on audio, read by Anne Bobby. ABC has already gone back to press twice to meet demand. "We are absolutely overwhelmed and delighted with the response we had to this contest—and audiobook," said editorial v-p Traci Cothran. "Apparently we aren't the only ones taken with Belinda's talent, as Elizabeth Pomada has just agreed to represent her." The audiobook is available through Ingram and Baker & Taylor as well as Audio Book Club.
