Grammy Shines on Audiobooks

The 27 million people who tuned into the February 21 broadcast of the 43rd Annual Grammy were witness to plenty of star-studded excitement. But the Grammys of most interest to booksellers and publishers—the awards recognizing audiobooks—were presented at a slightly more tame ceremony, just prior to the prime-time show.
The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences award Grammies to notable recordings that were released between October 1 and September 30 of the previous year. Booksellers might want to check the stock on the following winners.
Best Spoken Word Album for Children: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling, performed by Jim Dale (Listening Library).
Best Spoken Word Album: The Measure of a Man by Sidney Poitier, read by the author (Harper Audio).
Best Spoken Comedy Album: Braindroppings by George Carlin (HighBridge Audio).
Best Musical Album for Children: Woody's Roundup Featuring Riders in the Sky by Riders in the Sky (Walt Disney Records).
