A British Book of the Year

by Daisy Maryles -- Publishers Weekly, 3/5/2001

Sourcebook Landmark's fiction debut, Man and Boy, is a first novel by Tony Parson. The Illinois publisher is hoping to equal the success that the book enjoyed in London. Recently named Book of the Year at the British Book Awards (see p.16), the HarperCollins UK edition sold more than 750,000 copies and stayed on the British bestseller list for about a year. The house is supporting its expectation with an initial print run of 50,000 and a 10-city U.S. tour beginning on March 19.
