Grisebach Goes Agenting

Herbert R. Lottman -- Publishers Weekly, 3/19/2001

In what represents an unusual career switch in Germany—although it has become a frequent occurrence in the Anglo-American book world—a well-known publisher has leaped over to the agent's side of the fence. Dorothee Grisebach, who has been globe-trotting for German houses for some 30 years—first for Piper Verlag, later for Droemer, ending up as editor-in-chief for the Droemer, Knaur and Kindler lists—is opening her own international literary agency. She will represent German authors both in her own country and abroad, and foreign authors, publishers and agents in the German market (even in foreign markets, if requested). Her address: dorothee.griseback@t-online.de.
