Foley's Good Again

by Daisy Maryles -- Publishers Weekly, 5/28/2001

With his second memoir, Foley Is Good: And the Real World Is Faker Than Wrestling, climbing the charts, Mick Foley (aka Mankind) officially earns the wrestling bestseller title belt. A big name on the World Wrestling Federation circuit (he won the WWF championship three times), his first book, 1999's Have a Nice Day! was a national bestseller, spending 20 weeks on PW's chart. It was #13 on the annual nonfiction bestsellers list, racking up sales of more than 600,000 copies by year's end. Foley, recently retired from wrestling, is making writing his second career; he's successfully published two children's titles and is planning to try his hand at fiction. His booksigning schedule will keep him busy until mid-June (he's autographing at BEA on June 2), and he's already done lots of media, including several appearances on WWF TV shows. ReganBooks' three trips back to press bring the in-print figure to 230,000.

With reporting by Dick Donahue.
