Small Press Starts Up

Lois Sarkisian, owner of the children's book illustration gallery Every Picture Tells a Story in Los Angeles, has announced the formation of her own publishing imprint. This spring Sarkisian will launch Smallfellow Press within publisher Tallfellow Press, which was recently started by Leonard Stern and Larry Sloan, co-founders of Price Stern Sloan. Smallfellow has four books in progress, and plans to release the first this fall. Each new book on the publisher's list will be accompanied by an exhibit at Every Picture Tells a Story as well as a traveling show featuring artwork from the books. Both Smallfellow and Tallfellow are distributed by Andrews McMeel.
