Terrie Williams, author of Stay Strong: Simple Life Lessons for Teens (Scholastic), was honored at a party in New York City last month. The event also launched Williams's nationwide Stay Strong Tour, to promote her Stay Strong Foundation, which aims to bring the concepts of empowerment and mentoring off the pages of her book and into the lives of young people. Williams started the foundation in April, and plans to continue the tour through several U.S. cities, including a June 29 rally in Washington, D.C.
