Ross Feld, editor, novelist and critic, died of cancer May 10. He was 54 years old. Feld, the author of four novels, began his publishing career as copy editor at Time-Life Books and went on to become an editor at Grove Press. From 1978 to 1994, he was a fiction reviewer for Kirkus Reviews and was a regular contributor to Parnassus. He was also a contributing editor at North Point Press, and did editorial work for Knopf, Vintage, Pantheon and Counterpoint Press.
