Audio-Only Novel Is Audie Finalist

Known best as an actor and audiobook narrator, Ron McLarty is also a writer whose novel, The Memory of Running, was nominated for an Audie. But don't look for the book in the hardcover section—it hasn't appeared in print. "When I finished the novel, Claudia Howard at Recorded Books read it and said, 'Why don't we publish it on tape?' " McLarty recalled. The unabridged production was released by Recorded Books in December—narrated by McLarty, naturally. It was a finalist in the Audie category of audio original. McLarty was also an Audie finalist in the mystery category for his narration of The Naked Detective.
