MBI Publishing Company, the parent company of Motorbooks International Wholesalers & Distributors, which was sold last year to Flagship Partners, a private investment firm in New York City, has just completed a move 50 miles southwest to the Twin Cities. The warehouse operations will remain in Osceola, Wisc., where MBI sponsors the annual Wheels & Wings car show each fall. According to spokesperson Dennis Pernu, the move was primarily "for recruiting new employees. It's easier to be located in a metropolitan area." Motorbooks has a database of 14 thousand titles, and is the exclusive book distributor for three dozen publishers.
