A new book by Marcia Millman (Such a Pretty Face; Seven Stories of Love) has been sold at auction for a strong six figures to Jane Isay at Harcourt by Coast agent Sandy Dijkstra. It's Perfect Sister, based on a series of interviews with women about this most important of relationships, and Isay took North American rights.... Bully by Jim Schultze, to be a Lions Gate movie this summer, has also been sold to French publisher Havas Poche, both deals orchestrated by Janet Wilkens Manus of Manus Associates.... Boston's Palmer & Dodge agency is becoming part of the local law firm of Hill & Barlow, with principals Ike Williams and Jill Kneerim and agent Rob McQuilkin continuing to represent their clients.... Fred & Edie, a British true-crime novel by Jill Dawson, which Welcome Rain will publish in hardcover here in the fall, has been sold for paperback to Houghton Mifflin's Susan Canavan, in a deal made by Michele Rubin at Writers House.
