Scholastic has announced a one-day laydown date of August 21 for Captain Underpants and the Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Woman (Blue Sky Press), the fifth novel in Dav Pilkey's series about two fourth-grade boys and their principal-turned-superhero. A first printing of 600,000 copies is planned, and the publisher has created a life-size Captain Underpants standee that comes with 3-D hypno rings and a tear-off poster in the shape of a pair of undies. Scholastic's Web site also features a countdown clock to the release. Scholastic currently has over 10 million Captain Underpants books in print.
