Naxos Revamps Line

by Trudi M. Rosenblum -- Publishers Weekly, 7/2/2001

Naxos AudioBooks has redesigned its entire product line. All cassette versions are now packaged in durable 4¼"×7" multipurpose vinyl albums. Slipcase sleeves encase the compact discs, housed in standard jewel cases. All titles include an accompanying booklet providing useful program notes, author backgrounds, reader bios, a listing of musical enhancements and more. And on the CDs, "immediate access points" (or chapter breaks within the story) make it easy to bookmark where the listener left off or to find a favorite selection. Naxos AudioBooks' new catalogue offers more than 200 titles of some of the world's greatest literature, enhanced with classical music, digitally recorded, and available on both cassette and CD. Naxos's Sandra Gilbert noted that on average, Sixty percent of Naxos titles sell on CDs; 40% on cassettes.
