In Which Genreville's Writers Are Twelve Years Old

September 6, 2009 Technically, Genreville is off on weekends, but it's a holiday Sunday, we've been traveling and partying, we're a little loopy, and as we were discussing source material for a Labor Day post on work and laborers in genre fiction, Josh said something about Heinlein's The Moon is a Strange Mistress.

"You mean 'Harsh Mistress.'"
"Stranger in a Harsh Mistress?"
"Your mom is a harsh mistress!"

This led, in short order, to:

The City & Your Mom
"'Repent, Harlequin!' Said Your Mom"
The Yourmomiad
Your Mom & Mr. Norrell
The Colour of Your Mom
The Mammoth Book of Mindblowing Your Mom

etc. etc. etc.

Naturally, we had to share. If you're feeling similarly low-brow, feel free to join in; or just stare at us in horror and back away slowly, as you please. I should also note that we explicitly welcome "your dad" jokes.

("Why doesn't anyone tell 'your dad' jokes?"
"Your dad is a 'your dad' joke!")

We'll be back with real content tomorrow.
