December Book Club Poll
November 9, 2009
Time to vote on next month's book club selection! Once again, the below poll lists all the genre books for that month that were reviewed in
PW's SF/F/H and mass market sections. You, the readers, get to vote on which one will be our book club selection for the month. Once everyone's had a month in which to acquire and read the book, we'll discuss it in five separate posts that cover the plot, setting, character, style, and context within the author's other work and the book's genre(s) and subgenre(s).
One note about online polling: We realize that it's not hard to stuff the ballot box. Please don't. If you're the author or publisher of one of the books listed, feel free to point people to the poll, but
we do ask that you only vote if you plan to acquire and read the book and participate in the discussion. The point is to get good conversation going, not to get people to run out and buy a particular book.
Below is the poll for books coming out in November. It'll be open until the afternoon of 11/16, at which point we'll announce the winner and start discussing our October book, Cherie Priest's
Boneshaker (so here's your one-week reminder to read the book if you want to join our discussion!). If you need to refresh your memory about any of these titles, you can look them up in our September fiction reviews:
9/7,
9/14,
9/21,
9/28. I'm listing the books in the order in which they were reviewed, to facilitate your research. Discussion of this book will take place the week of 12/14, a little early to avoid running into the holidays.
If you can't see the Flash poll below, try
this HTML version.
