How about Hugh Jackman or James McAvoy reading anything?

This reminds me of Shelly Duvall's Bedtime Stories series from the early 90's. I still have the videos, even though my kids are in their late teens. Michael J. Fox read "There's a Nightmare in My Closet" by Mercer Mayer. This series was a favorite at my house, for both kids and parents.

Ages and ages ago I listened to something read by Michael York. I don't even remember what the book was, but I remember being blown away by the reader. Makes my pulse race just to think about it! I remember thinking, "He could read the phone book to me and I'd hang on every word!"

Oh, definitely James McAvoy. Perhaps he could first read "Where the Wild Things Are" (and he would do a lovely job portraying the monsters' mischief and mayhem), followed by "The Highwayman," which was my very favorite poem as a kid for its melodrama, doomed love, and that galloping horse cadence of "The Highwayman came riding, riding, riding".

I just replaced YouTube link I'd originally included with one that's currently working better (although the quality isn't as good). Anyone who watched the earlier clip and found the sound didn't match up with the visuals shouldn't have that trouble now.

James Mcavoy would be AMAZING. The older men option would be Ian Mckellan. (spelling???) Corduroy would have to be the book, or maybe something by Dr. Seuss. LOL. I can hear it now. One fish, two fish....

I read "Winnie in Winter" to a class of second graders this past school year, and I can tell you I was not nearly as "spell bound" as when I listened to Richard read it. And his "Night-night, sleep tight"? I'm going to get a voice coach for my husband!

How about Patricia Barber singing Goodnight Moon? Of course, she would need a full glass of cognac on the piano...

It so has to be James McAvoy...not only is he HOTT but can imagine the English accent...mmm mmm mmm The book would have to be Little Miss Naughty and the Good Fairy (with the line "the magic wand kept me entertained all evening long..." who can resist...)
