My Way or the Hemingway
June 3, 2008

Here's a short t-shirt post to ease you back into my blogging routine, on the heels of the NINE delightful posts you've hopefully been reading the past few days, compliments of Josie and Elizabeth! How on earth they found nine chunks of time in all the BEA hubbub is beyond me, but I for one am SUPER grateful they did. Reading their reports was almost as good as being there!

THANK YOU, Josie and Elizabeth!!

And now... another book-related item, because so many of you seem to be enjoying these. This week's wearable entertainment comes compliments of BuySomethingAwesome.com where you can (yes) buy this awesome t-shirt. But first tell me just what you think the HEMINGway is... Short sentences, maybe? Witty understatement? Hmm.

The back, or perhaps the companion shirt, should say, "OK, but will the earth move?"

As the writer's grandson, I can state in no uncertain terms that the HemingWay includes a broad appreciation for the well placed pun...

Edward, I think (in no uncertain terms) that YOU should have a t-shirt sporting the slogan "My way IS the HemingWay."

In the song "We Call Upon the Author To Explain" on Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' newest album - there's a line that says "but he went the Hemingway."

Be careful if you order this t-shirt. I have had lots of problems with the supplier most noteably with communication both by phone and e-mail. I did finally receive the t-shirt but in the wrong size and, of course, no reply to my e-mail about exchange or return.

I also purchased one of these shirts and had 0 problems. I've worn it to conferences all over the country and it almost always gets a few remarks.

I purchased this shirt over a month ago and I still have yet to see it. It is a very awesome shirt, but the dealer is incompetent. He has told me twice that he has sent the shirt and when I follow up he gives me an excuse as to why he hasn't sent it yet. I asked for a refund but he even shorted me on that too. Do not be fooled by the great design, the seller is very sloppy and unbusinesslike.
