Your Dream Author Panel
March 21, 2007
So, yesterday I wrote an entry, and it somehow vanished into thin air. I don't think any of my links were suspect, so here goes with the entry again:
I'm off this weekend to the
Virginia Festival of the Book, now in its thirteenth year -- the first time in a while where I will be going not as a moderator or manning a booth, but just for my own recreation and edification (not to mention the chance to see great people like
Carol and
MJ). I'm looking forward to attending a few panels, and that got me thinking: what would my dream panel look like?
Just as our five-book list (see my earlier entry) can change frequently, so can this panel... all depends on what you're reading, what you're working on, and what you're dreaming about right now. If I could assemble my own, it would be T.C. Boyle, William Kennedy, and Emily Barton discussing how the history and geography of New York State have influenced their work.
What would yours be? I'd really like to know. If any of them seem feasible, I'll suggest them to Nancy and Kevin, the amazing folks behind VA Book.
