Book Expo America 2008: Who Would You See?
May 29, 2008

I'm traveling to LA today, so I'll keep this brief, but I'd like your input: whether you're already at BEA or you're Book Expo 2007staying behind, which authors do you want to see, either in booth or in line? I've marked up my lists already, but that doesn't mean I've noticed everyone I should. If you have a fave author on there, I want to know about him or her!

Also, I really hope that McGraw-Hill will again be handing out big red tote bags like the one in the foreground of this picture, since mine went without my knowledge to hold the younger Mini Maven's costume for the school musical. There is nothing like those zippered M-H bags for stuffing with post-BEA clothing so that you can use your suitcase for important things like galleys.

More from the Left Coast soon...

I would stand in line for Isabel Allende ... will she be there? I'll be at BEA on Sunday signing at the RWA booth ... hope to see you around Bethanne! Best, Mary C.

Meet a newcomer! I would say go to the Random House booth to meet Janelle Brown, author of the debut novel All We Ever Wanted Was Everything, just out from Spiegel & Grau. It's just the most delicious read and I've heard Janelle is a sweetheart.

My human, Steve, and his female will be hanging around the Sterling booth for parts of the day on Saturday in order to promote my book, The World Is Your Litter Box. It's a hilariously funny how-to manual for cats. I doubt that you'll have to stand in line to meet them, but please do stop by to say hi. If you miss them, you might want to visit the website at TheWorldIsYourLitterBox.com or visit my blog at The WorldIsYourLitterBox.blogspot.com.
