What's On Your Nightstand: The Semi-Regular Feature Continues
March 21, 2008

I've been up against a deadline, so I haven't had as much time to read as I would like (let's face it, there's never as much time to read as I would like). I haven't even finished a book that I can put into Recommended Reading. Oh, the shame... But I do have plenty of books-in-progress.

On my nightstand:

All Shall Be Well, and All Shall Be Well, and All Manner of Things Shall Be Well by Tod Wodicka

Sepulchre by Kate Mosse

The Girl with No Shadow by Joanne Harris

Another Thing to Fall by Laura Lippman

On my Kindle:

Beginner's Greek by James Collins

The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan (I really must finish this one!)

Beautiful Children by Charles Bock

What's on your nightstand? Or Kindle, or eReader, or downloaded to your MP3 player for an audio read?

On my mp3 player unabridged downloads of: Everything is illuminated (having listened to extremely loud and incredibly close, also by Foer, and having LOVED the wonderful shared reading by three narrators) Hat Full of Sky - Pratchett (this week's reread since it is March in Maine and cold and dark still. Tiffany Aching is the best medicine...) Cross Bones - Kathy Reichs The LIfe and times of the Thunderbold Kid - Bill Bryson Acacia - can't remember who wrote this humongous fantasy novel Fire Study - Maria Snyder (book 3) Mmmmm. Audiobooks. I can hardly wait to do dishes tonight.... Cheers, Michele

I am in the middle of the excellent book, "The Blue Star" by Tony Earley. I waited 8 years to find out more about Jim Glass (from Earley's "Jim the Boy") About 3/4 finished "Moloka'i", a novel by Alan Brennert - lots of good info...maybe a bit too long. Re-reading "Bonfire of the Vanities" for the series The Reading Room at the NYTimes website (I tried to put the URL here but it is not allowed!)
