Sign of the Times: Now With Pictures!
August 10, 2007

It's a long story, and I'll keep it short: yesterday I had the chance to visit a rescued four-week-old sea otter at SeaWorld San Diego. She was comatose when found washed up on the shore and is now thriving (all together now: awwwwwwww... ).

Some of the education team at SeaWorld were discussing what to call the young critter, and while they eventually settled on "Abby" (short for abalone), the trendiest entry was....

Yes.

"Harry P. Otter."

Here she is, in all her cuteness (thanks, A., for the pix!):

Abby the baby sea otter rescued by SeaWorld   Just a little ball of fur   Playing with her shell  So precious

Careful, Bethanne-I saw on South Park that the otters are evolving into a warlike society that will soon be a world power...( I live in an area where there's lots of them, and you can hear them marching at night)
