Blogging With Elegance: Share Your Favorites
August 1, 2007

Yesterday my favorite serial commenter Kevin A. Lewis referred to the fact that "if someone blogs with sufficient elegance... a century from now" that they might be studied/remembered.

I won't be around, then, and neither will you (unless you're one of those super-low-calorie-longevity-diet proponents, and really, has any of you made it past age 60 yet? We'll see. Harrumph. But I digress). And Kevin, I need the fainting couch quickly for your implied view that The Book Maven is not already blogging with sufficient elegance. Sniff. Look, digressing again... hmmmm, I guess this is what it means not to blog with elegance...

Back to the point. Which book/literary blogs do you love the most, besides this one (and if you're reading this but don't love it, that's fine, but please don't tell me, at least in this post's comments. You can always tell me via email: the reading writer at aol dot com)? This blogging platform does not allow me to maintain a permanent blogroll, but if it did I would certainly list Critical Mass, The Elegant VariationGalleyCat, Book/Daddy, Buzz Balls and Hype, and Miss Snark (it's officially "finished," but the Snarkives provide hours if not days of delight).

I look forward to your choices, from the elegant to the snarky...

I'm already a fan of the blogs you've listed. For fun I'd add The Lipstick Chronicles (thelipstickchronicles.typepad.com) and for a thoughtful look at the writer's life I'd add Theresefowler.blogspot.com (You can check out mine and see what you think, too--notafraidofthefword.blogspot.com)

For all around superbly written and most fun, I recommend instapunk.com. It contains a wide realm of subject in varying length and always multimedia.

Actually, Bethanne, it occurs to me that you're sitting on a veritable silver mine of a novel plot here; you'd have to throw in a dashing attorney and possibly a serial killer or two, but (seriously) I think you've got a book idea here...
