UPDATED: BEA Parties 2007: Weinstein Books at The Maritime Hotel

It's taken me nearly 20 minutes to figure out that The Javits Center is charging for wireless access... now that I'm logged on, I've got to run to a 10:30 meeting. BUT: I am going to be back very very soon to tell you about the Weinstein party at the North Cabana of The Maritime Hotel. If you weren't there, you should have been! OK, it;s 12:30 p.m. and I've got to go get some lunch, but let me just relate that The Maritime Hotel is like what Eurotrash was before it got trashy... My friend Christine and I had dinner at The Cabana Restaurant before heading up to the party. I asked Rob Weisbach, the Weinstein Books President and CEO, what was most important for everyone to know about the change from Miramax to Weinstein, and he told me that "The most important thing is that everyone know about the change, and continue to follow our great list."

One of the most fascinating things about that list is its brevity: Just. Five. Titles. But they're all quite interesting, and in my next update I'll tell you about one of those five authors whom I met at the party. Ciao belli!
