(My Brain's) Contents May Have Shifted During Flight
November 12, 2007

Monday, Monday... I'm back at home after five days in New York, and while my head is filled with snippets of conversation and things I want to share with you, I'm not yet coherent; I think traveling jostled my brain. I promise a post in a little while if you'll bear with me. Here's what I read while I was away:

Signed, Mata Hari by Yannick Murphy -- spare and gorgeous (out this week)

The Amateur Spy by Dan Fesperman -- suspenseful and smart (and not out until March 2008)

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao -- surprising and poignant

I'll be back in the early afternoon, and can't wait to get home and dive into my next book... Ken Follett's World Without End. (It was too big to carry on a trip!)

Bethanne: Please write about Oscar Wao. I have it on request/hold at the library. Have been hearing all sorts of intriguing things about it. Would like to hear your take. Amy

World Without End is indeed a fun read; unfortunately if they tried to make a movie of it the film would have to be longer than Gone With The Wind in order to do it justice-still, they pulled off an excellent film adaptation of Name Of The Rose, so who knows?
