The Same Poop
May 15, 2007

I have to admit, I wanted to be one of the haters.

When the galley came in, I had successfully avoided the movie.

But I couldn't help it when my obsessive score-keeping forced my hand.

I put the movie in my q.

It spoke to me as a perverse divorced person.

I read the entire book.

Its affective constrainedness reminded me of a particular piano piece,

But I was hooked.

It made me feel as if I were living the filmic younger son's fantasy of "pooping back and forth" with someone, "the same poop, over and over, forever."
