They Say it's your Birthday...
October 7, 2007

Well, it's my birthday too, yeah. And what a great birthday today turned out to be. Yesterday, in the mail, I got a couple of boxes and thought, yea...birthday presents. I have to tell you about one in particular. It wasn't really a birthday present, but it felt like one.
It was from author D.C. Stanfa. The box contained her book, The Art of Table Dancing: Escapades of an Irreverent Woman, a pink plastic lei, a neon green cap with the logo "Will dance for a Margarita" in pink print, a couple of the same neon green insulated can holders with the same pink logo, flavored margarita salt (lemon-lime and
chili-lime) and beer salt (my dad actually used to shake salt in his beer). Wow!! The only thing missing was the Margarita mix. Her business card proclaims "Author -- Beach Party Hostess -- Mafia Princess." She signed the book to me saying "Beach Wishes." So I just had to try it all on (it is my birthday after all) and I had my son, Andrew (he will only read this if I mention his name) take a picture of me with Lake Michigan in the background. My local beach.
While in Atlanta at the Moonlight and Magnolia's conference, I was asked to sit in on a panel for publicity and marketing. D.C. Stanfa should have been there because she has the publicity/marketing down to a science. It worked on me anyway.
Bottom Line: For Christmas I'm asking for a Margarita maker to go with the salt I got from D.C.
UPDATE: I now have 147 friends on MySpace. Always room for one more, byo Margaritas. (I also added a slideshow of pictures from the 2007 conferences I attended. My hidden talents are scaring me)
