Pets and Petaholics Contest
October 4, 2008

Welcome to week 2 of Pets and Petaholics.  All you have to do to win is match the author/editor/publisher/agent/bookseller with their pet, be it real or imagined.  The prize this week is a $10 gift certificate to Borders Books and will go to the person who guesses the most correct.

There will also be a special prize just for posting a comment...any comment.

I have gotten over 90 entries, so this contest will be running for several weeks to come on Saturdays.  You can still enter your pet by sending me a picture of yourself and your pet to barbaravey@gmail.com.

Still waiting to hear from last week's winners Haven Rich and Kate Pearson with your snail mail addresses.   If I don't hear from you by Monday, new winners will be picked when this week's winners are announced.

So, go forth and have fun with this.  Send me your guesses to barbaravey@gmail.com.

The adorable ones:

From top left:  Chloe, Max, Foutchie, Ufton, Mountain Barbie, Dolce, Oreo, Bobo, Sadie and Roman.

The ones who pay the vet bills:

Nicola Cornic, Ann Gracie, Jessica Faust, Kelley St. John, Dee Davis, Jill Shalvis, C.L. Wilson, Eden Bradley, Bonnie Vanak and Deborah MacGillivray

Bottom Line:
"Cats are smarter than dogs.  You can't get eight cats to pull a sled through snow."  ~ Jeff Valdez

Thank you, Barbara -- this is such a fun thing. And what a gorgeous collection of dogs and cats today. You can tell they're vital in keeping their owners inspired -- and exercised in the case of the dogs. My dog drags me out walking every day. Some days I am sooo not in the mood, but she's been so good, and she looks at me with those big brown eyes and I just have to take her out. And you know, by the end of the walk, I'm a new woman. I'll send a book to one person who guesses my dog correctly -- email Barbara and she'll give me the winner's name.

What a cute set of pets! I love them! My pets try to sabotage me by sleeping on me/next to me/all around me when I am trying to work but the dogs will always be up for a walk if I need fresh air and inspiration. Thanks so much for the contest, Barbara!

Oops! Sorry that last message came up twice! It told me I had got it wrong the first time. Clearly my pet is cleverer than I am!

Since Anne Gracie said her dog -- who is a "she" -- drags her out for walks, I'm matching her with Mountain Barbie. I have a dog who drags me out, too. They're all cute -- pets, authors and agent.

Anne, thanks for offering one of your books and we'll see if anyone guesses correctly.

Also, I just saw on MySpace that Nicola Cornick has offered a special prize to anyone who guesses her pet on her website. www. nicolacornick. com

Good Luck everyone!

Wow--I don't know which group is cuter--the pets or their owners (or should I say the humans or their owners?!!!). I won't hazard a guess, Barbara, but thanks for this fun blog!

Great pictures. I have no clue, but I sent my guesses anyway. I can't wait to see the matches. Ufton, Mountain Barbie and Bobo could be pictures of my own dogs and Oreo could be a picture of either of my cats. Thanks for the fun contest.

There are some pics of my dog when she was a wee puppy on my website,-the bio section, in Journal-- so that might help. Nicola also has one on hers -- I checked, but the name didn't match the kind of dog. And Mountain Barbie is mentioned on another author's site, or rather her blog...
