Your Turn
June 1, 2007

Since I started writing this blog, I have received many e-mails from readers telling me about the great book they were reading.  (Even after my blog about book recommendations)  Apparently, we readers feel the need to share our passion with others and I am so guilty of this.  Today alone, on my way to a doctor's appointment, I stopped at 2 bookstores and ended up talking to bookaholics like myself.  (Hi to Bev from Walden's and Susie and her hubby at Borders, great meeting you all)

With that said, after thinking about this for maybe 10 seconds, I thought, "What the heck?"  I'll let you have an open forum every Friday to let the world know what you're reading.  Since I'm too lazy to retype every suggestion I've received, the ball is in your court.  Go ahead...recommend away.

I'll go first....I'm currently reading Patrice Michelle's A Taste for Control, an erotic, vampire romance, which I read with the fan on.  In the car I'm relistening to Hot Six by Janet Evanovich.  I just never get tired of Stephanie Plum's adventures and to me, it's a stress reliever when I'm driving to laugh at Gramma Mazur and the gang.  On my iPod is Lie By Moonlight, a historical romance by Amanda Quick.  I am such a sucker for an English accent.

Bottom line:  Ask and you shall receive...except if you want money

I'm reading on opposite ends of the spectrum this week. Just bought Gayle Roper's Caught in the Act, and finishing up Jeff Lindsey's Darkly Dreaming Dexter. Not a romance, but his use of language is as lush, twisted, and awesome as I've come across in a long time.

Hello Barb, as you know I'm a big fan of Urban Fantasy. I just finished a new series by Karen Chance: Touch the Dark and Claimed by Shadow. Nonstop action that hooks you in immediately. Can't wait for the next one.

Hi Barb! I really need a pick-me-up as far as books are concerned, so I'm turning to my all-time favorite hero in Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas. It's also one of my favorite books ever, but I am madly in love with Derek Craven! So, yes, I recommend this book over and over! I also recommend Samantha James' latest release, The Secret Passion of Simon Blackwell. That book left me on a high for several days after finishing it! I also highly recommend anything and everything by Paula Quinn and Carol Finch, especially if you want to become totally lost in a book! These are two of the best authors out there, in my opinion!

I recently read two excellent books: Beth Ciotta's clever, quirky All About Evie and Mariah Stewart's newest suspense Last Look. I highly recommend both. Now I need to tackle a large Walt Disney biography for book club.
