Jennifer St. Giles and Kelley St. John at the literacy signing
Jennifer St. Giles and Kelley St. John at the Literacy signing

Thursday morning...at least I think it's Thursday.  The days kind of run together at these conferences.  But I've highlighted the schedule, so hopefully I end up where I need to be.  I can't find my digital camera.  I had it at the last party I attended, so I know I lost it here in the hotel.  So no pictures until I get it back or find someone else who also took pictures yesterday.  But my videos are at the bottom of the blog and I'm just posting some today from the Literacy signing.

First off, the Drive By Video went up late yesterday, so if you haven't seen it, go back and watch Jill Monroe and Gena Showalter, the Abbot and Costello of the author's circuit.  I've seen their Author's Talk video and think they are hilarious, but I told them they would only have 30 seconds in front of the camera for my Drive By.

Breakfast was at Mel's Diner with author Kathleen O'Reilly who I met in New York.  Great food, fast, and at a reasonable price.  Not something I always see on my travels.  Even though I was careful, I managed to get stuff on my tan pants.  Then I went to the Harlequin signing, had one chocolate and managed to get some on my tan sweater sleeve.  I'm going to start looking for plastic clothing that can be wiped off (I did try the Tide stick, but it didn't work for me).

Brenda Chin, senior editor at Harlequin Blaze was telling me about a new series starting that will be a historical with hot sex (hello...Blaze).  Authors featured are Hope Tarr, Jade Lee, Betina Krahn and Jacquie D'Alessandro.  The line for signing was out the door and down the hall.

Victoria Alexander was the luncheon speaker and she had the crowd in tears...in a good way.  Her talk was hilarious as she told about her husband Chuck and how she manages to almost always have a husband named Charles dead or dying in her books.  Her fans have started looking for it.

I've been a huge fan of Susan and Harry Squires for many years, so when I had a chance to meet them, I was total fan girl.  They are delightful and Susan even remembered an email I had sent after reading The Companion.

On to The Fog Diva's Cupcake party at a place that specializes in the yummy dessert.  I went with the carrot cake and thank goodness it was almost over, because there was a chocolate cream just screaming my name.

Dinner was at Buca's Italian Restaurant with the Romance Diva's (I know, lots of Diva's at RWA).  70 divas attended and one Diva Dude, Mike Meyers.  We all were given nametags and mine read "Most likely to suck you into her blog Diva."  This group is camera crazy and I'm sure you'll see their pics showing up all over the internet.  There's a Drive By Video at the end of the blog.

I rushed off to the PASIC (Published Authors Special Interest Chapter) party in the Neiman-Marcus rotundra.  Absolutely beautiful.  Waiters served the most delicious looking desserts like little lemon tarts and jumbo strawberries split and stuffed with chocolate (no, I didn't have any, but only because I was stuffed from the Diva Dinner).

I started back to the hotel and was almost home free when I ran into Holly Jacobs who reminded me of the E-Harlequin group's Pajama Party.  Yes, they actually all wear pajamas and I was overdressed.  This party idea started because most of them (like me) wear pjs while communicating via the internet.

Bottom Line:   Note to self:  Put name on new digital camera.

After 12 hours yesterday at opening day of the Wisconsin State Fair, about all the energy I have today is to check out your 'comings and goings' in San Francisco. What fun! I loved the cable cars! Still waiting for you to touch base with Kristin Hannah, Barb.
