Barbara's Big Adventure
July 9, 2007
Well, tomorrow morning I'm off on another big adventure representing Publishers Weekly at the Romance Writers of America (RWA) convention in Dallas. And boy, am I pumped!! I've never been to Dallas, but then I didn't get to see much of Houston either when I went for the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention (unless you count the drive to and from the airport).
RWA describes itself as "dedicated to advancing the professional interests of career-focused romance writers through networking and advocacy." They have a membership of over 9,500 published and aspiring romance writers in 144 local chapters. The conference offers over 100 workshops for the authors and an awards ceremony Saturday night.
There will be a book signing for "Readers for Life" literacy fundraising on Wednesday with over 450 authors. (I have a pound of batteries for my camera so I can get lots of great pics...just call me Jimmy Olsen)
Some of the interviews I have lined up are Nora Roberts, Teresa Medeiros, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Suzanne Brockmann, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Marliss Melton, Julia Quinn and Cathie Linz. So, if you have any burning questions you'd like me to ask them, let me know.
Bottom Line: Sing with me now...Big D, little a, double l, a, s
