| Lori Foster speaking at WisRWA |
There's a lot to be said for going to a smaller conference. Much more one on one time and so you really get to know people more than just a passing hello. Seminars are more intimate and you have a better chance at winning a raffle. (Of course, this doesn't apply to me since I could have 99 out of the 100 tickets in the drawing and they'd call the one I didn't have).
Lori Foster was the lead off speaker today talking about "How to Avoid the Pitfalls in our Industry." Lori stressed that everyone goes through success and failure. She wrote 10 books before being published and it's just not productive to go into a funk every time you get rejected. Lori also explained why you can't expect your family to "get it." She cited the first time her book made it to number 2 on the New York Times bestseller list and she called her 85 year old dad with the good news. His response: "Well Honey, maybe next time you'll make number one."

It was a fabulous conference. I met so many new people and put faces to familiar email names. Now I'm exhausted. I'll be in bed early tonight.
Barbara, love to see the pics. I'd forgotten about Liz's win. It was a great conference!
We were so glad you could be with us, Barbara! 6 am? Now I know why I didn't see you on Sunday. Sorry we kept you up so late Saturday night. My, those slushes were good :).
Just got home a little while ago from the conference and I'm exhausted. Loved seeing everyone, the seminars were terrific and winning that basket was a bonus.
I also heard tell you had a little bit of luck, Barb.
I can vouch for Barbara's luck. She showed me the voucher. lol Great conference everyone. Sandy
Why am I the only one in the picture that looks like white chalk? Everyone else looks great. Sandy
You look fantastic in all of your pictures, Laurel. Do you hear that sucking noise? Grin! You wanted a coment. lol
It was so nice to see everyone and meet new people--thanks to all of the attendees who made it such a great success! Glad you had fun, Barbara.
The conference sounds like a great time. I'm so sorry I had to miss it this year. Thanks for the report, Barbara!

This looks like a great conference and such fun. Very informative too. I love the book/purse--never would have thought of that myself.
