Your Turn FridayApril 24, 2009
Jayne's Arcane Society started in her Amanda Quick books and she once again brings the society into the 21st century. Call me a sucker for falling for the not so perfect hero who hates that he needs a cane. And you have to watch for those librarian types...it's always the quiet ones. Audio books are great. You can dust, knit, and even put on make up while listening to them. Not that I did any of those things, but it's possible. And while I've always listened to books while driving my car or on my iPod while walking, I still can't wait to be able to pick up that next book and feel the pages and watch the words flow as they take me to far off places with people I'll get to know intimately. In response to: Your Turn Friday Gina commented: It's been a slow reading week for me but I've been reading Beyond Heaving Bosoms by the bloggers over at Smart Bitches. It its both funny and accurate, articulate and well researched, in their no-holds-barred kind of way. If you love any type of romance this is a necessary companion book for you.

In response to: Your Turn Friday Keena Kincaid commented: It's been one of those weeks for me, but when I have time to relax (ha!) I've been reading the latest Scumble River Mystery, "Murder of a Royal Pain," by Denise Swanson. The series features school psychologist sleuth Skye Denison and just the right mix of humor, romance and whodunnit to be the perfect read in a crazy week.

In response to: Your Turn Friday Edie Ramer commented: Glad you're on the mend! When I'm writing intensely, as I'm doing now, I tend not to read fiction. I'm reading an interesting non-fiction book, The ESP Enigma by Diane Hennacy Powell. But I just got Mastering the Marquess by Vanessa Kelly and read the first few pages. Love the writing! I have it next to me as I type. lol I'll be reading it today.

In response to: Your Turn Friday joysann commented: I recently read and blurbed Men of the Otherworld by Kelley Armstrong, and absolutely loved it, so now, out in the car, I'm listening to it. It's just as good in audio. I've also got The Moor going, by Laurie R King, for her in the house. I love detectives Mary Russell and her husband. And in print, I'm reading Bianca D'Arc's Ladies of the Lair. Those dragons are burning my fingers; sizzle.

This week I read Jude Devereaux's LAVENDER MORNING, Cherry Adair's NIGHT SHADOW and Lucy Monroe's THE SPY WHO WANTS ME and Lora Leigh's DAWN's AWAKENING. All worthwhile reads!

Wonderful time traveling romance. Destiny by Alex Archer, the first book in The Rogue Angel series and Kim Harrison's The Good, The Bad, and The Undead.
