Viz's Naruto Road Tour, a national fan event with anime previews and free fan activities, kicked off last week with events planned for Maryland, Illinois, Arizona and California. And the Naruto movie, Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow, premiers June 6.

Acquired by Abrams editor Charles Kochman at the 2006 New York Comic-con, Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid began life as a webcomic, attracting a huge audience of kids online and seems to have brought that audience to the print edition. The story of a smart aleck kid and life in grade school, the book is a genuine surprise hit after hitting the New York Times bestseller list and now PW's comics bestseller list. An unusual combination of prose and pictures, the book has been called a "novel in cartoons."
