Nolo Seeks New CEO

by Bridget Kinsella, PW Daily -- Publishers Weekly, 6/8/2007

After 10 years with Berkeley-based legal publisher Nolo Press, David Rothenberg stepped down last month as the company’s CEO. CFO Bob Dubow is now serving as acting CEO while a company search committee looks to fill the top position.

“David did some wonderful things for us,” said Dubow. “He got us on much more solid ground financially and headed up the re-branding effort.” He credited Rothenberg with launching the Online Lawyer Directory, with its interactive services such as online estate planning. “We’re looking for someone to take us to the next level,” said Dubow.

One of Nolo’s goals is to make the Lawyer Directory—which is now available in five states—a national product. “Our book and software sales are heavily focused on California [now],” said Dubow.
