HarperCollins; Sharp Independent To Adapt 'Now You See Him'

By Rachel Deahl -- Publishers Weekly, 1/8/2008 6:57:00 AM

HarperCollins' in-house film development arm, Sharp Independent at HarperCollins, has named Eli Gottlieb's forthcoming novel, Now You See Him, as its next book-to-film project. The acquisition marks the first for the division, a joint project announced in October 2007 between HarperCollins and indie film house Sharp Independent.

The William Morrow title, which is the author's second work and received a starred review from PW (as well as being named a #1 Book Sense pick), is slated for a February 2008 release. Speaking to the book, a literary thriller about goings-on in a small New York town, producer Jeff Sharp said it "moves with the speed of a thriller, while at the same time excavating the deepest secrets of the human heart."
