McCain to Viking

Wendy Wolf at Viking has acquired a book by possible First Lady Cindy McCain; Flip Brophy made the sale in a deal said to be worth close to a million dollars. The book attracted significant interest from New York publishers, whom McCain was in town to meet last week, with Harper, at least, also making a bid. The deal was finalized Friday afternoon, and there are already multiple offers on the table in the U.K.; unconfirmed rumors have Picador as the winner.
