Free Press Preempts ex-Gawker Editor’s Memoir

Free Press senior editor Amber Qureshi preempted North American rights to Emily Gould’s And the Heart Says…"Whatever” via Melissa Flashman at Trident, who closed the deal last Friday for a rumored low six figures. Gould, author of a recent New York Times magazine cover article about her life online, will weave a picture of what it’s like to be a young person in New York City in the early 2000s through a series of “honest, searching and wry” recollections.
