DESCRIPTION:

The industry leader in publishing books that inspire the world, is looking for a Subsidiary Rights Associate. This position will represent Thomas Nelson in our domestic licensing business, engaging in hands-on sales and relationship management with domestic licensing partners, including reprint publishers, Bible publishers, gift companies, audio publishers, book clubs, broadcast and film production companies, large print publishers and digital publishers. The Subsidiary Rights Associate also attends select rights fairs, participates in regular travel to visit core accounts, is responsible for specific administrative functions within the department, and is charged with growing currently underserved areas of the business.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Crafting and executing effective submission campaigns for Thomas Nelson titles.

Engaging in the negotiation process for new licenses.

Managing, maintaining and building relationships with key constituents, including book clubs, large print publishers, reprint publishers, audio and digital publishers.

Providing publishing partners with reading and production materials.

Participating in select rights fairs.

Skills and Experience Required:

One to two years publishing experience preferred, rights/ licensing experience a huge plus. Ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of activity is essential, as are sophisticated verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility, energy and the ability to work well both independently and within a group are key.
