Bloomsbury to Publish Memoir by Irish President

| Reader Comments

Bloomsbury USA has acquired North American rights to Everybody Matters, a memoir by human rights activist Mary Robinson. Agent Lynn Franklin, of Lynn C. Franklin Associates, brokered the deal for Robinson, who was also the first female President of Ireland, in office from 1990-1997. After her term in office, Robinson served as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

According to Bloomsbury, which is planning a tentative fall 2012 publication, the book will "chronicle [Robinson's] career, starting as a young lawyer in Ireland crusading for the rights of women, and encompassing her remarkable experiences ever since." Robinson, who has won a number of awards, was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Obama in 2009.
