Scholastic has revealed the cover of The Hugo Movie Companion, which publishes on November 1 to coincide with the theatrical release of Hugo on November 23. The book will have a first printing of 100,000 copies.

Brian Selznick, the author of the original, Caldecott Award-winning source material for the film, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, which Scholastic Press published in 2007, also wrote the companion book. In the book, Selznick describes his experience in turning his book into a 3D film, and it also includes photographs, interviews, and an essay on the birth of movies, written by Martin Scorsese, who directed the film.

In addition to the release of Hugo and its companion work, Selznick fans can look forward to his next book, Wonderstruck, which Scholastic acquired last year and which will be released on September 13. Like Hugo Cabret, Wonderstruck is heavily illustrated, with entire sections of the book told solely through wordless drawings.
