The Copernicus Archives #2: Becca and the Prisoner’s Cross by Tony Abbott. HarperCollins/Tegen, $3.99 paper; ISBN 978-0-06-231474-1. The second volume in the Copernicus Archives series follows 12-year-old Becca as she explores ancient secret societies in modern-day London.

One Moment in Time by Lauren Barnholdt. HarperTeen, $9.99 paper; ISBN 978-0-06-232141-1. The second volume of the Moment in Truth series – each volume following a different teen in a pact to do something life-changing before high school graduation – tells the story of Quinn’s summer romance in Florida.

Goblins on the Prowl by Bruce Coville. S&S/Aladdin, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-4169-1440-2. Coville returns to the world he built in 1992’s Goblins in the Castle, in which a girl is embroiled in a magical fight of good versus evil.

The Night World Mordicai Gerstein. Little, Brown, $18; ISBN 978-0-316-18822-7. The Caldecott Medalist explores the transformation of night into day and day into night in his latest picture book, which earned a starred review from PW.

The Sign of the Cat by Lynne Jonell. Holt/Ottaviano, $16.99; ISBN 978-0-8050-9683-5. Eleven-year-old Duncan, who can understand the language of cats, finds himself overboard a ship and in the middle of an adventure complete with a princess, a tiger, and a kitten companion.

Little Miss, Big Sis by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, illus. by Peter H. Reynolds. HarperCollins, $17.99; ISBN 978-0-06-230203-8. The picture book duo behind Plant a Kiss team up for a story about a girl and her new baby sister.

More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. Soho Teen, $18.99; ISBN 978-1-61695-560-1. This debut novel tells the story of 16-year-old Aaron, who has a chance to erase the memories of his tragic life through a new procedure, but what Aaron most wants to forget is that he is gay. The novel received a starred review from PW.

Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone. Disney-Hyperion, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-4847-0527-8. 16-year-old Samantha has kept her OCD secret from her friends, but when she’s drawn into a group of poets and starts to fall for a new boy, she begins to want to open up.

Miles Taylor and the Golden Cape: Attack of the Alien Horde by Robert Venditti. Simon & Schuster, $16.99; ISBN 978-1-4814-0542-3. A middle-grade adventure interspersed with comic-book elements follows 12-year-old Miles after he inherits a magical cape, and just as aliens begin to invade the planet.
