The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher, illus. by Shane Devries. Random House, $13.99 (384p) ISBN 978-1-5247-7330-4. In this middle grade Christmas novel, a dinosaur enthusiast who is being teased by a bully because he uses a wheelchair requests a real dinosaur from Santa.

I’m an Immigrant Too! by Mem Fox, illus. by Ronojoy Ghosh. Beach Lane, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-5344-3602-2. This picture book celebration of immigration offers American readers a fresh perspective on both Australia, the home country of Fox (Time for Bed), as well as issues of citizenship and diversity that are dominating the news.

Coming Home by Michael Morpurgo, illus. by Kerry Hyndman. Candlewick, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-5362-0042-3. In this sophisticated picture book with a tangential holiday theme, understated text and art follow a Scandinavian robin on its annual Christmastime migration from its northern homeland to Britain.

The Light Between Worlds by Laura E. Weymouth. HarperTeen, $17.99; ISBN 978-0-06-269687-8. In this haunting YA historical fantasy, two sisters struggle with acclimating to the modern world after spending years in a magical realm. The book earned a starred review from PW.

I Am Not a Fox by Karina Wolf, illus. by Chuck Groenink. Putnam, $16.99; ISBN 978-0-399-17450-6. In this picture book, Wolf (The Insomniacs) and Groenink (William’s Winter Nap) take on the big issue of identity within the context of a gentle urban world.
