Polo Orozco at Putnam has acquired, in a preempt, A Spin of Fate, a high-fantasy trilogy by debut author Ambika Vora-Nagino, writing as A.A. Vora. Loosely inspired by Indian philosophy and Japanese manga, the series is set in a world that segregates beings into upper realms of peace and lower realms of strife. The story follows three troubled teens who join a rebel group fighting to break the laws of the universe—all while battling malevolent beasts, power-hungry warlords, and at times each other.
