Late last month, New York City children’s bookselling mainstay Books of Wonder turned to Indiegogo to raise $100,000 toward the financial cushion it needs to stay in business for the long term. With a little less than a day and a half to go, the store looks like it could meet its fundraising goal.

As of midday on Tuesday, Books of Wonder had raised just over half, $54,800, through more than 760 donors. An anonymous donor has pledged to match all contributions made between November 26 and the end of the campaign. The money should stretch further now that Books of Wonder, which is located in a former restaurant, has found a new subtenant/café partner to replace Cupcake Café, which has been closed for more than a year.
