Faye Bi has been promoted to the new position of associate publicist, school, library and social media outreach; she was previously publicity assistant. Liza Patinkin has been hired as publicity and school & library assistant. She was an intern at Bloomsbury Children's Books and Dystel & Goderich Literary Agency.

Mary Ann Zissimos has joined Disney Publishing Worldwide as publicity manager; she was most recently senior publicist at HarperCollins Children's Books.

Bridget Ryan has joined Random House Children’s Books as publicity assistant; she was previously school and library marketing assistant at Penguin Young Readers Group.

Siena Koncsol has been promoted to publicist at Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing; she was formerly associate publicist.

Johanna Kirby has been named marketing assistant at Macmillan Children's Publishing Group; she was previously publicity assistant at Random House Children's Books.

Shanta Newlin has been promoted to executive director of publicity at Penguin Young Readers Group; she was previously director of publicity. She will continue to oversee all publicity efforts for PYRG and will also focus on communications and long-term P.R. strategy.

Random House Children's Books has three new hires. Stephanie O'Cain has joined the marketing department as marketing manager for trade. She was previously marketing manager at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Aisha Cloud has joined the publicity department as senior publicist; she was previously a publicist at Tor Books. Lydia Finn has joined the publicity department as publicist; she was previously a publicist at Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing.

Alyson Day has been promoted to senior editor at HarperCollins Children's Books; she was previously editor. She has been with the company since 2004.

Sarah Schlesinger has joined the Random House Children’s Books marketing department as senior marketing manager for licensed and proprietary brands, reporting to Kerri Benvenuto. Sarah was most recently manger of synergy and partnership marketing with the Walt Disney Theatrical Group.

Capstone has named David Samuelson general manager of its library division. Samuelson has 20 years' experience in the K–12 market with a background in online education and emerging technologies. Most recently, he served as executive v-p, director of games and augmented reality at Pearson.

Carmela Iaria has been appointed to the newly created position of executive director of educational and library marketing at Penguin Young Readers Group. She was previously v-p of marketing for Scholastic's book clubs division. Iaria will lead PYRG's school and library marketing team, and will be responsible for shaping the strategic vision for the institutional market.

Michelle Bayuk will join Egmont as associate director, sales and marketing on October 10. She was most recently director of marketing at Albert Whitman & Co., and previously worked at the Children's Book Council, Millbrook Press, and Scholastic.

Scholastic has two new hires and two promotions. Nancy Mercado will join Scholastic Press as an editorial director on October 14; most recently, she was executive editor at Roaring Brook Press. Alexis Lunsford has joined Scholastic Trade as national accounts manager, Barnes & Noble/NOOK. Most recently, she was account manager for Barnes & Noble at Penguin Young Readers Group. April Chorba has been promoted to product director, art department at Klutz; she was previously designer and art director. Eva Steele-Saccio has been promoted to product director, editorial at Klutz; she was previously project manager and editor.

Allison Moore has been promoted to assistant editor at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers; she was previously editorial assistant.
