Casey McIntyre has been named associate publisher of Razorbill, a new position, effective March 5. Most recently she was publicity manager at HarperCollins Children's Books; author she worked with there included Veronica Roth and Newbery Medalist Katherine Applegate. She began her publicity career at Penguin.

Reka Simonsen has been named executive editor of Atheneum Books for Young Readers, effective March 10. Previously she was executive editor at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, editing primarily YA and middle-grade fiction, and worked with Catherine Jinks, Chris Moriarty, and Margarita Engle, among other authors. Before that she was senior editor at Henry Holt.

Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing has three new hires. Kayley Hoffman joins the company as production editor in managing editorial, managing titles for Simon Pulse and Aladdin; she was previously assistant production editor at Berkley. Rio Cortez has been named sales manager, as of March 3, and will work with the field, telemarketing and telesales groups. She was formerly assistant manager of sales planning and analysis at Penguin. And Betsy Bloom has joined the education and library marketing group as marketing coordinator. She was previously marketing assistant in S&S's corporate marketing group.

Kirsten Hall is leaving the Bright Agency, where she has been an agent for four years, to start her own venture, Catbird Productions. Catbird will specialize in book production, as well as function as a small agency for authors and illustrators. She can be reached here.

Sarah Shumway will join Bloomsbury Children's Books as senior editor on March 3. She was formerly senior editor at the Katherine Tegen Books imprint of HarperCollins Children's Books, and before that worked at Dutton Children's Books.

Mary Lee Donovan has been promoted to editorial director at Candlewick Press. She has been with the company since it opened its doors in May 1991, and was most recently executive editor.

Kayla King has joined Simon & Schuster Children's Books as subsidiary rights assistant. She previously interned at Writers House and at Wales Literary Agency in Seattle.

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing has one promotion. Teresa Ronquillo has been named marketing coordinator; she was formerly marketing assistant.
