Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has two new appointments. Emilie Polster has been named executive director of marketing. She was previously senior director of integrated marketing and operations at HarperCollins Children's Books. Casey Siegel has been named executive assistant. She was previously an executive assistant at Blackstone Alternative Asset Management.

Sarah Dotts Barley has joined Flatiron Books as senior editor, focusing on YA crossover. Previously she was an editor at HarperTeen.

Caitlin Casey has joined Little Bee Books as manager, marketing and publicity. She was formerly senior manager at Scholastic Reading Clubs.

Myrick Marketing & Media has two appointments. Francisca Goldsmith has been named social media manager, and will manage social media focusing on YA, graphic novels and audiobooks by client publishers. Most recently she was social media manager for InfoPeople and was the editor of the Adult Books for Teens column for School Library Journal. Jessica Young has been named social media manager, and will manage social media for picture books from client publishers. She is the author of the picture book My Blue Is Happy (Candlewick), and is a former art teacher for elementary students.

Laura Mancuso has joined Little Pickle Press as v-p of sales and marketing. Most recently she was sales manager of special markets at Lonely Planet.

Elizabeth Bennett is joining Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers on September 19 as executive editor, franchise publishing. She was most recently with Studio Fun (previously called Reader's Digest Children's Books). She will be based in the Boston office.

Penguin Young Readers Group’s publicity department has a promotion and two new hires. Jessica Shoffel has been promoted to associate director of publicity; she was formerly publicity manager. Bridget Hartzler joins the company as publicist; she was previously a publicist at St. Martin's and Bloomsbury Children's Books. Katharine McAnarney joins the company as publicity assistant; she interned in the editorial and publicity departments at Algonquin Books, the University of North Carolina Press, Folio Literary Management, and Scholastic.

HMH Books for Young Readers has two new hires for the New York office, both starting on September 22. Ruth Homberg joins the company as senior marketing manager. Previously she was digital marketing manager at Egmont Press in London, and before that she worked at Random House Children's Books and HarperCollins Children's Books in the U.S. Hayley Gonnason joins the company as senior publicist; she was most recently a publicist at Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, and before that was a publicist at Holiday House and Tricycle Press.

Jenica Nasworthy has been promoted to associate managing editor at Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers; she was previously senior production editor.

Alison Folino has joined the content development marketing department of Random House Children’s Books as a managing producer. Most recently she was executive producer at an edtech start-up working on the development of a social reading platform for children in grades K-8; before that she worked at Sesame Street, where she received both an Emmy and a Peabody Award for her creative work on the launch of SesameStreet.org.

Annie Nybo has been promoted to assistant editor at Margaret K. McElderry Books; she was previously editorial assistant.
