The Children’s Book Council and Every Child a Reader unveiled their newly installed Newbery and Caldecott library at a party at the CBC offices in New York on May 2, during the 98th annual Children’s Book Week. The collection was donated last year by Minneapolis author Claudette Hegel, who has written books on the awards as well as biographies of Randolph Caldecott and John Newbery. Hegel viewed her collection in its new home for the first time at the event. Also in attendance were several local award-winning authors and illustrators, who signed copies of their books for the library.
