In an effort to make the finalists for this year’s National Book Awards accessible to readers, OverDrive—a digital reading platform for libraries and schools worldwide—created an e-book collection featuring shortlisted titles, available for free via its Libby app.

All that’s needed to download the titles is a valid library card. For those who do not have one, many libraries in the U.S. offer an Instant Digital Card, which grants instant access to anyone who provides a phone number.

The collection of NBA titles includes King and the Dragonflies by Kacen Callender (Scholastic Press), winner of the 2020 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature, as well as the finalist books in that category: We Are Not Free by Traci Chee (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt); Every Body Looking by Candice Iloh (Dutton); When Stars Are Scattered by Victoria Jamieson and Omar Mohamed (Dial); and The Way Back by Gavriel Savit (Knopf).
