It should come as no surprise that Comixology, the Digital comics platform and marketplace, continues to add users at an impressive rate and extend the reach of new comics to comics consumers. The Comixology app finished the year as the Top Grossing non-game iPad app in 2013.

Comixology was #11 on the App Store’s list of Top Grossing iPad apps—behind the Simpson’s game app at #8 and just ahead of the New York Times iPad app at #12—on a list that’s otherwise full of gaming apps. The digital vendor also said they delivered 6 billion pages of graphic novels and comics—up from two billion last year—since the company’s launch in 2009. Comixology now offers access to more than 45,000 comics from 75 publishers.

Comixology’s reach extends beyond its own app and marketplace. Comixology’s platform also powers the top three book apps in the Top 100 ranking at the App Store.

Comixology co-founder and CEO David Steinberger said, “In a billion dollar marketplace with competition between over a million apps, it’s gratifying to rank as the Top Grossing non-game iPad App in the entire iTunes App Store. This past year has been a great year for comics and comiXology.”
